Ep. 9: Akemi faces arrest while Satoru investigates potential victims Hiromi and Aya

Akemi reacts violently to accusations from Satoru and Sachiko, only to be caught by Yashiro and consultants who recommend taking Kayo into custody. Before Akemi can leave for the police, her mother approaches her, expressing regret for failing to support her after divorcing an abusive husband and raising Kayo alone. This interaction leads Akemi to reflect on her behavior. Kayo subsequently moves in with her grandmother. Satoru then shifts his focus to two other potential victims: his classmate Hiromi Sugita and Aya Nakanishi from a neighboring school. While monitoring both girls, Satoru joins Kenya and Hiromi to inspect a bus with its contents removed, explaining the details of the serial killer who targeted Kayo.
