Boruto observes his mysterious eye power remains inactive for weeks. Sai informs Naruto and Shikamaru that Sumire confessed everything to stop for her friends. Shino announces three-man team formations at the academy. Sarada asks about Sumire, but Shino says her return is unknown. Boruto and Mitsuki seek teammates, but only Metal is available. Shikadai notes the Leaf Police handle Sumire's case. Principal Iruka shares Sumire is under surveillance, prompting Shino to visit her. Sumire accepts responsibility, but Shino argues the Gozu Tennou is gone. Boruto asks Naruto to release Sumire, but the Hokage refuses, promising not to let Boruto down. Shino visits Sumire again, suggesting she reconsider. Training begins, but Shino leaves early due to news about Sumire. Boruto and Sarada discuss his absence.
