Ep. 209: Kawaki grapples with nightmares and Jaggy's death while Boruto and Shikamaru prevent his departure from Konoha.
Kawaki stays home after a nightmare involving Jigen, refusing to train with Boruto due to their Karmas resonating. He observes Himawari caring for a wounded stray wolf named Jaggy, and they gather berries together. Upon returning, they discover Jaggy surrounded by feral wolves. Kawaki discards a farewell letter in frustration. The next morning, Boruto and Mitsuki question Kawaki’s distress. Kawaki and Himawari find Jaggy dead, and he comforts her. After burying the wolf, Kawaki attempts to leave the village. Boruto stops him, revealing Hinata found the letter for Naruto. Kawaki claims safety is impossible because Jigen can appear anytime. Shikamaru intervenes, supporting Naruto’s decision and noting Kawaki is no longer Kara’s sole target and is already a citizen. Kawaki returns to Jaggy’s grave, where Himawari is paying respects.
