A bedridden merchant fears Tsubaki's sword, leading the team to suspect a samurai culprit. Investigation points to Sazanka, and a second attack prompts a trap. Tsubaki reveals her suspicions and Sazanka's past theft attempt. Team Wasabi confronts the bandits and their bodyguard, Sazanka. Tsubaki fails to stop him from wounding her and admits she won Mifune's blade by luck. The team returns with resolve. Tsubaki faces Sazanka while Wasabi and Namida handle the bandits. Sazanka dominates the duel, but Tsubaki notes his solitude made him dull while her comrades strengthened her. She ultimately defeats him.
