The group escapes Funato pirates to reach Dotou Island, where Buntan reveals control curse marks on Sarada and Mitsuki. Sarada and Mitsuki infiltrate the island to save Team Denki and researchers, while Team Kagura, Kawaki, and Boruto monitor the perimeter and seek a new vessel. The infiltrators learn the pirates are forcing islanders to mine gold. Team Denki is hiding in a cave, planning to rescue miners and Leaf researchers. Sarada and Mitsuki recover a puppet belonging to Denki, which guides them to the team. Meanwhile, Kagura tells Boruto that his past help inspired Kagura to reform his former comrades. As they wait, a massive object approaches their ship through the mist.
