As the vessel departs Funato territory, Iwabe expresses distrust toward Kyohou. The group discovers their captain murdered, with Kyohou found cleaning the Helmet Splitter. Hebiichigo and Buntan assist the investigation, noting Kyohou’s prior rage against Tenma as an alibi. Boruto and Iwabe guard Kyohou while Kawaki identifies a miner witness who claims to have seen Kyohou near Captain Taiki’s quarters. The group demands Kyohou remove his mask to check for Funato markings, causing him to flee. Iwabe corners him, but Kawaki intervenes. A Funato pirate emerges from the witness, revealing himself as the killer and attempting to seize Kyohou’s body. Kyohou survives, and the group confronts the culprit, who destroys the ship’s engine. Kyohou later explains his mask hides scars from a village burned by the Funato years ago.
