Buntan and Kyohou pursue Hebiichigo while Kagura waits in the ravine for the Funato unit. A Funato scout spots them, and Hebiichigo overhears their ambush plans before returning to warn Kagura. Funamushi’s forces overwhelm Kagura’s resistance until Hebiichigo, Buntan, and Kyohou arrive to assist. Funamushi targets Kagura and Boruto for injuring Seiren, forcing a retreat to a mountain village. Despite using advantageous terrain to defeat most Funato troops, Kagura’s group is overwhelmed by Funamushi’s large-scale attack. Kagura uses the full power of Hiramekarei to cut through the jutsu, but Funamushi pins him from behind. Taking Kagura hostage, Funamushi demands they drop their weapons. When Boruto demands Kagura’s release, Funamushi impales Kagura with a Water Style blade, revealing he never intended to let him go.
