Metal, Sarada, Boruto, and Mitsuki search for Denki and Iwabe, who have been missing for three days. They capture a Funamushi soldier, but villagers Buntan and Kyoho urge them to kill him to aid the fight against Araumi. The Leaf shinobi refuse to leave without the missing boys. Denki and Metal return independently, explaining how Funamushi spared them. Boruto attacks Funato stragglers at night, sparing a boy revealed to be Funamushi's son, Kobuna, before his teammates intervene. Sarada comforts a conflicted Boruto. Upon returning, they find Buntan torturing the captive. Boruto argues about the war's purpose, prompting the prisoner to reveal that Ikada is Seiren's little brother, shocking Boruto.
