Boruto and Batta face a deadly tag game while Kiseru remains the prime suspect.
Dec 11, 2022Batta shares her suspicions about Kiseru with Boruto, while Kawaki and Sarada assist Mitsuki in their investigation. Upon returning, Boruto and Batta receive envelopes containing numbered tags from 1 to 8, tasked with obtaining a total of 7 points within two hours before Ouga teleports them away. Kiseru discovers his communication device is missing, likely taken by Batta during a prior altercation. Boruto, Yatsume, Shamo, and Namua combine their numbers and discover the bodies of Batta and Fugou. Rokuro arrives with their tags and demands a fight. Meanwhile, Sarada and Kawaki find Mitsuki trapped, who claims he was attacked by rogue shinobi. Namua sacrifices himself to help Boruto defeat Rokuro, who reveals Batta and Fugou were already dead when he took their tags, implicating Kiseru. Boruto sends the others to safety while waiting for Kiseru to arrive with his tag.

Dec 25, 2022Boruto, Yatsume, and Rokuro explore Ouga’s complex after awakening from a genjutsu. Rokuro betrays Yatsume, who becomes infected by a mind-controlling parasite. Boruto discovers Rokuro is attacked by Ouga, a shinobi puppet, and realizes they remain trapped in a second genjutsu layer. Yatsume reveals herself as the real Ouga, the Eighth Inner of Kara, a cyborg created by Amado. She explains her exile by Jigen and subsequent life-threatening experiments to regain her desire to live. Ouga urges Boruto to stab her to break the illusion, but he hesitates, fearing it might kill her. As the world collapses, Boruto inspires her to find a reason to live and wake up. He contacts Team Sarada and ANBU, confirming everyone is safe. Ouga escapes to pursue her dreams, leaving a promise to write.
