Ep. 281: Boruto confronts the true Ouga, the Eighth Inner, within a collapsing genjutsu labyrinth.
Boruto, Yatsume, and Rokuro explore Ouga’s complex after awakening from a genjutsu. Rokuro betrays Yatsume, who becomes infected by a mind-controlling parasite. Boruto discovers Rokuro is attacked by Ouga, a shinobi puppet, and realizes they remain trapped in a second genjutsu layer. Yatsume reveals herself as the real Ouga, the Eighth Inner of Kara, a cyborg created by Amado. She explains her exile by Jigen and subsequent life-threatening experiments to regain her desire to live. Ouga urges Boruto to stab her to break the illusion, but he hesitates, fearing it might kill her. As the world collapses, Boruto inspires her to find a reason to live and wake up. He contacts Team Sarada and ANBU, confirming everyone is safe. Ouga escapes to pursue her dreams, leaving a promise to write.
