Ep. 1: Chrono Shindou discovers a mysterious deck and learns to fight in the world of Vanguard.

Three years after the Legion Mate arc, Chrono Shindou, an apathetic teenager, finds a Vanguard deck and map in his locker. He visits Card Capital 2, where he witnesses a match between Mamoru Anjou and part-timer Kamui Katsuragi. Kamui recognizes Chrono’s Gear Chronicle clan as unprecedented and challenges him to a game. During the battle, Kamui explains the rules and lore of Vanguard. Cornered, Chrono hears a voice revealing Generation Stride, an ability to stride from the Generation Zone representing an alternate future. This power allows him to defeat Kamui. Moved by the experience, Chrono runs off to pursue this alternate future, passing by a certain someone.
