Ep. 4: Chrono battles Shion Kiba for a card while earning Reika's trust through chores.
At Card Capital 2, Chrono receives an anonymous Gear Chronicle card and accepts a quest to retrieve a card from his grandmother's house. He meets Reika, who distrusts him, so he performs menial tasks like weeding and grocery shopping to build rapport. Upon returning, Chrono discovers Shion Kiba, a popular student, has already secured the card and Reika's affection. Shion offers the card out of pity, but Chrono refuses, feeling insulted. The two agree to settle the dispute with a cardfight, where the winner claims the card for the quest. Facing Shion's Royal Paladin deck, Chrono is initially pushed to the brink but ultimately secures a comeback victory using the new Gear Chronicle card. Shion accepts the defeat gracefully but vows to defeat Chrono in their next encounter.
