Tokoha Anjou, a classmate of Chrono, is asked by her brother Mamoru to find information on the Gear Chronicle clan. She takes her friend Kumi Okazaki to Card Capital 2 to register as a fighter. Observing Chrono, she notes his happiness contrasts with his school behavior. When Chrono drops his deck due to a toothache, Tokoha identifies the clan. To distract himself from dental pain, Chrono accepts a quest from Kumi. His pain causes errors against her Oracle Think Tank deck, but Tokoha’s reminder that Vanguard is fun helps him recover and win. Tokoha declares she will fight him later. Finally, she reports her findings to Mamoru, prompting Chrono to visit the dentist.
