Tokoha organizes a meeting where the group decides to run a takoyaki stand for an upcoming regional Vanguard festival. The venture proves successful, allowing Chrono to enjoy the event after his friends recognize his hard work. Chrono observes Mamoru engaging in various festival duties, including cosplaying as Vangua-rou and assisting attendees. When Chrono questions why a renowned fighter prioritizes festivals over tournaments, Mamoru explains that these events unite people and promote Vanguard more effectively. The festival culminates in a main event where groups of three battle Mamoru sequentially. Granted special privilege as a reward, Chrono, Shion, and a reluctant Tokoha face Mamoru, though they are defeated. Kumi leaves early due to an emergency, prompting Tokoha to substitute for her. Despite the loss, the group receives applause, and Tokoha invites them to folk dancing around a campfire as the festival concludes.
