As the event unfolds, Kazuma faces Mamoru. Believing defeat is imminent, Kazuma quits before the match concludes, which infuriates Chrono. Chrono attempts to discuss Kazuma's pessimism and persuade him to try, but this results in a minor physical altercation, causing Kazuma to depart. Ultimately, Shion's team, the Fukuhara Vanguard Club, wins the tournament. Following the victory, Mamoru alerts Chrono to thugs exploiting the Vanguard organization to attack individuals.
