One month into her studies abroad in France, Tokoha assists the Vanguard Association's Paris Branch. Jaime introduces her to Miguel Torres, a polite but unlucky cardfighter aiming for the U20 division. During a friendly match, Tokoha discovers Miguel is a strong and passionate fighter despite his misfortune. The following day, the two spend time together, during which Tokoha admits she has not yet found a personal goal. Miguel responds by promising to support her wholeheartedly. Later, Jaime contacts Tokoha to inform her that Miguel has died. This episode highlights the bond formed between the two characters and the sudden tragedy that interrupts their budding friendship and mutual encouragement regarding their respective dreams and uncertainties.
