Shion aims to recruit Rin Hashima for Fukuhara's Vanguard club, but Henri faces initial refusal. Henri piques her interest by mentioning Mamoru Anjou will teach the club. Rin arrives at the club room before Mamoru, where Shion persuades her to play cards against Henri. When Mamoru appears, Shion deceives him into thinking Rin is already a member undergoing training. To avoid losing face in front of Mamoru, Rin reluctantly agrees to become an official club member, completing Shion's recruitment plan through this orchestrated misunderstanding.
