Cinderella searches for Charles, whom she mistakenly believes is named Alex, because her stepmother requires her to bring home the prince's page. During her search, she discovers Charles is not a page and dismisses him as a liar. Remembering her stepmother's orders, she faces a difficult situation until Paulette, the fairy godmother, uses magic to transform a horse into Charles. Cinderella returns home with him, but the spell breaks, reverting him to a horse. Terrified, her stepmother ties a carrot to Cinderella's apron and sends her running toward town with the horse in pursuit. Charles intervenes to stop the chaos and reveals his true identity, prompting Cinderella to share her own name with him.
