Upon learning of the prince's hunting plans, Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters arrange a picnic in the same woods. A sudden storm and strong wind blow Jeanne's hat away, prompting her and Cinderella to chase it unsuccessfully. While Jeanne searches through the bushes, she is mistaken for a bear by Charles and Alex. Just as they prepare to shoot, Cinderella intervenes to save Jeanne. The prince recognizes Cinderella as the girl he previously met in the city, resolving the misunderstanding through her timely action.
