Ep. 23: Tomoya and Youhei’s prank leads to Nagisa’s unexpected friendship

One year before the story begins, Tomoya starts his second year of high school while Nagisa enters her third year. Nagisa struggles to make friends as usual. Meanwhile, Tomoya and Youhei act as delinquents, playing pranks on Kyou and inadvertently affecting Nagisa. During one prank involving a falling metal pan intended for freshmen, Nagisa is knocked unconscious. A classmate then seizes the opportunity to speak with her, and they become friends. Nagisa retains the banner from the prank, which features a confidence-building message written by Tomoya. She keeps it because she believes it contributed to her making a new friend.
