Following Nishijima's orders, Hei's unit is expelled from The Syndicate, resulting in assassination contracts on all their lives. Kirihara learns that The Syndicate is a multi-national intelligence collaboration and that she was an unaware member. Hei, Yin, and Mao infiltrate Hell's Gate while Huang detonates a suicide bomb as a distraction. Mao loses connection to The Syndicate's network, causing his feral instincts to take over and leading him to run away. Contractors from the Evening Primrose attack PANDORA security forces, clearing the path for Hei and Yin. The Syndicate disables the Evening Primrose's Doll system, leaving Hei with only Yin for guidance as they proceed deeper into Hell's Gate.
