Tohka transfers to Shido's class, sparking an immediate rivalry with Origami. On a rainy day, Shido meets Yoshino at a shrine but dismisses her as an ordinary girl. At school, Tohka bakes cookies to compete for Shido's attention. Upon returning home, Shido discovers Tohka will reside there since he sealed her powers, a move Kotori frames as necessary training for future Spirit sealing duties. A spatial quake alarm triggers at school, leading Shido to Yoshino, identified as the Spirit Hermit. While Tohka waits in a shelter, she follows Shido and accidentally kisses Yoshino. Tohka reclaims her powers to provoke Yoshino, who attacks and flees using her Angel Zadkiel. Yoshino escapes the nearby AST forces, while Origami observes Yoshino's puppet, Yoshinon.
