EP 1Shido encounters a Spirit during a spatial quake while searching for Kotori.
Apr 6, 2013Thirty years ago, a spatial quake devastated the center of Eurasia. In the present, the ditzy Kotori Itsuka and her brother Shido live in Japan. For the opening ceremony, Kotori and Shido make a promise to meet at a diner later that day. As school ends for Shido, a spatial quake alarm sounds throughout the city for the citizens to enter shelter areas immediately. After being unable to contact his sister, Shido uses her GPS to confirm that she is still within the city according to their promise. He leaves the shelter to find her and in doing so, is outside when the spatial quake occurs thus meeting his first Spirit. After a battle between the Spirit and the AST, where Shido learns that Origami is a part of the AST, Shido finds himself among the group Ratatoskr on the airship Fraxinus learning about the Spirits, his sister and the organization she is a part of.

Apr 14, 2013Shido begins stage two of his training by applying his powers to real humans, starting with his teacher Tamae Okamine, who becomes obsessively infatuated with him with help from Reine Murasame and Kotori. After fleeing Tamae, Shido encounters Origami and uses her for practice, inadvertently starting a romantic relationship. A spatial quake alarm sounds, signaling the appearance of the "Princess" Spirit at Raizen High School. Following an evacuation and partial destruction of the school, Shido enters to confront the Spirit, connecting with her and naming her Tohka. The AST attacks Tohka from a distance, but Origami, believing Shido is being held hostage, engages Tohka in close combat and is injured. The following day, Tohka finds Shido amidst the wreckage so they can go on their date.
EP 3Shido and Tohka enjoy a supervised date while Origami watches from afar
Apr 21, 2013After the Raizen High School incident, Shido and Tohka go on a date monitored by the Fraxinus crew. Tohka initially mistakes food for a "date" and fears the crowd is attacking her. Origami observes from the shadows as they visit a restaurant and an arcade dominated by crane games. Tohka enjoys the food but notices Shido is not having fun. She inadvertently reveals her bond with him while playing. At a cliff edge, Tohka understands the concept of a date and sees why the "mecha people" protect the world. Origami receives permission to kill Tohka, but Shido intercepts the blast. Shido appears dead, causing Tohka to attack Origami furiously. Shido mysteriously revives and falls from the sky. To prevent Halvanhelev from destroying the city, Tohka kisses Shido as her Astral Dress disappears, asking him to take her on another date.
EP 4Shido encounters Yoshino during a rainstorm while managing Tohka's new living arrangements.
Apr 28, 2013Tohka transfers to Shido's class, sparking an immediate rivalry with Origami. On a rainy day, Shido meets Yoshino at a shrine but dismisses her as an ordinary girl. At school, Tohka bakes cookies to compete for Shido's attention. Upon returning home, Shido discovers Tohka will reside there since he sealed her powers, a move Kotori frames as necessary training for future Spirit sealing duties. A spatial quake alarm triggers at school, leading Shido to Yoshino, identified as the Spirit Hermit. While Tohka waits in a shelter, she follows Shido and accidentally kisses Yoshino. Tohka reclaims her powers to provoke Yoshino, who attacks and flees using her Angel Zadkiel. Yoshino escapes the nearby AST forces, while Origami observes Yoshino's puppet, Yoshinon.

May 5, 2013Tohka avoids Shido due to unresolved feelings regarding his interaction with Yoshino, seeking guidance from Reine. Meanwhile, Shido assists Yoshino in locating her puppet, Yoshinon, leading them to his home for a meal. Yoshinon is revealed to be a heroic figure embodying traits Yoshino admires. As Shido bonds with Yoshino, Tohka interrupts with an apology but misreads the situation, causing Yoshino to flee. Shido discovers Yoshinon is at Origami’s residence. Origami attempts to force a connection between Shido and Yoshino, but a Spirit mission interrupts. Yoshino is targeted by AST, prompting Shido and Tohka to rescue her. Tohka acts as a decoy while Shido navigates Yoshino’s barrier with Yoshinon to honor his promise. Upon gaining her trust, Shido seals Yoshino’s powers. The episode concludes with the completion of housing for the Spirits, allowing Tohka and Yoshino to move in.

May 12, 2013Shido organizes a visit to Tenguu Gokuraku Hot Springs for Tohka and Yoshino. Kyōhei Kannazuki manipulates Kotori into joining, but his ulterior motives result in a week of manual labor. Meanwhile, Ryōko Kusakabe learns that DEM Corporation reinforcements are incoming and that the Spirit alert level has cancelled the group's vacation. Persuaded by an AST member, she decides the AST will visit the hot springs instead. Origami initially shows little interest but changes her mind after overhearing Shido’s plans with Tohka. During the journey, Shido’s affection toward Yoshino frustrates Tohka, causing her to collapse the road and disrupt the AST’s underground train. To prevent conflict, Ratatoskr blocks the AST’s path. Kotori orders Date Town into Battle Mode Level 2, authorizing fire on the AST. Stray ordnance sends Yoshinon flying, prompting Shido to search for her amidst the firefight. He nearly dies from Ratatoskr’s Destruct Mode before Tohka rescues him under Origami’s watch. The group eventually reaches the hot springs, which are partially frozen due to Yoshino’s actions. Kyōhei has dug a new spring that Kotori and the others enjoy. The episode concludes with Mana Takamiya arriving in Japan.
EP 7Mana practices with Origami while Kurumi transfers to Shido's class as a deadly Spirit.
May 19, 2013Mana engages in a 10 vs. 1 practice match against Origami's unit before a briefing reveals her unknown connection as Shido's biological sister. Kurumi Tokisaki, a Spirit code-named Nightmare, transfers into Shido's class and tours the school with him while being followed by Origami and Tohka. Kurumi attempts to seduce Shido to gain his extended lifespan. After school, Kurumi kills three delinquents and is confronted by Mana, who later shares information with Shido that causes a quarrel with Kotori. The next day, Shido learns Kurumi was killed by Mana yet appeared at school. Origami questions Kurumi in a secluded place, confirming her pursuit of Shido's life force.

May 26, 2013Shido attempts to date Kurumi but must simultaneously accommodate Tohka’s seduction and Origami’s demands to avoid heartbreak and suspicion. Because sealing Kurumi requires the date, Ratatoskr teleports him between the girls while monitoring their emotional states. The dates occur in close proximity, causing Tohka and Origami to cross paths and race to find Shido, fearing a rival. After leaving Kurumi, she encounters boys harassing a stray cat and joins them. Ratatoskr loses track of Kurumi during the chaos. Shido returns to find Kurumi killing a tormentor amidst blood and body parts. As Kurumi holds Shido, Mana intervenes while wearing her CR Unit.
EP 9Shido confronts Kurumi while Mana pressures Kotori and spirits battle clones
Jun 2, 2013After Mana kills Kurumi and reveals the truth to Shido, he distances himself from Tohka and Origami due to trauma. Tohka discovers his distress and continues their date to lift his spirits. The following day, Shido declares his intent to save Kurumi, prompting her to trap the school in a field. Meanwhile, Mana confronts Kotori about Ratatoskr to leverage Shido's safety. As Origami and Tohka fight Kurumi copies, Shido convinces the original Kurumi, only for her to be killed by a time-twisting clone using Zaphkiel. It is revealed that Kurumi’s shadow hands belong to her past selves. She takes hostages to trigger a spatial quake, but Kotori arrives in her Astral Dress as the Ifrit spirit to cancel the explosion and engage Kurumi in combat.

Jun 9, 2013Kurumi immobilizes Kotori with her skills, creating copies to shoot her, but Kotori’s healing ability prevents death. When Kurumi orders her copies to kill Shido, Kotori shields him, destroying the duplicates. During the intense battle, Kurumi temporarily inhibits Kotori, but the Spirit retaliates by shooting at Kurumi, who summons copies for protection. Shido attempts to reason with Kotori to spare Kurumi, but she ignores him, leading Shido to realize she is no longer herself. He positions himself in front of Kurumi to shield her from the incoming shot. Kotori suddenly regains consciousness and deflects the attack. Shido awakens on Fraxinus after dreaming of an event from five years ago. Reine calms him, and he visits Kotori before heading to the hospital to see Mana and Origami. Unable to meet Mana, Shido speaks with Origami, who attempts to draw him closer. As he leaves her room in the late evening, Origami reveals her intention to kill the flame Spirit to avenge her parents' death five years ago, explaining her reason for joining AST.
EP 11Shido trains for a date while investigating the past fire and Spirit identities
Jun 16, 2013Shido reflects on Kotori’s five-year event and the residential fire statements by Origami. Ratatoskr staff select Ocean Park for the date, prompting Reine to train Shido, Tohka, and Yoshino in swimsuit shopping. Origami teases Tohka about anti-Spirit equipment and questions her regarding Ifrit. A contest ensues to see who attracts Shido most, with Yoshino winning. Back on Fraxinus, Shido watches fire footage, recognizing ordinary noise as a Spirit named Phantom, which triggers flashbacks and causes him to black out. Tohka and Yoshino assist Kotori the next day. Seeing Kotori use pharmaceuticals for her mental decline strengthens Shido’s resolve to take her away alone. Meanwhile, Origami observes the DW-029 Annihilator Gear White Licorice at the AST base, provided by DEM Industries for Mana. Ryoko indirectly reveals footage of the Kotori and Kurumi battle. The episode concludes with Origami analyzing the footage, realizing the true identity of Efreet.
EP 12Shido and Kotori's amusement park date is interrupted by Origami's violent attack
Jun 22, 2013Shido and Kotori enjoy a date at an amusement park while Ratatoskr monitors their progress. Yoshino shares information about Kotori’s Spirit identity with Tohka. Origami attacks Kotori using White Licorice, forcing Kotori to transform. Origami accuses Kotori of killing her parents, trapping her before Shido intervenes. Tohka and Yoshino arrive to help, but explosions endanger the group. Kotori and Shido kiss, sealing the Spirit Ifrit. They recall events from five years ago. Shido pleads with an exhausted Origami. Kurumi observes from a rooftop. Reine notes Kotori’s affection remained stable. Kotori asks Shido about his feelings, receiving an embarrassed response and punishment. White Licorice is returned to AST. Origami recovers in hospital. Credits show an interrupted kiss and a "To be continued" message.
