Ep. 12: Nagi's rampage forces Ganta to protect Shiro while Karako is stabbed and Hibana is killed by Toto.
Nagi attacks guards while Ganta shields Shiro, enduring blows to reason with his friend. Nagi regains his senses due to Karako’s bell, but Genkaku stabs Karako and shoots Nagi, who holds Genkaku in place. Genkaku then kills other guards. Ganta suffers from candy withdrawal poisoning. Hibana attempts to flee but is killed by Toto, who gained Senji’s abilities by drinking his blood. Shiro enters Wretched Egg mode, causing the stone in Ganta’s chest to emit a powerful blast. Both Nagi and Genkaku are mortally wounded. Nagi gives Ganta his final candy before dying. Karako and others escape, while Ganta stays behind to protect his friends. Toto becomes fascinated with Ganta’s Branch of Sin. Shiro sings a lullaby to Ganta, who recalls hearing it before the Red Man attacked his classroom.
