Masaru and Agumon escape DATS HQ after Masaru refuses to let Agumon be teleported back to the Digital World. They hide at home, where Masaru’s mother Sayuri Daimon and sister Chika Daimon befriend the Digimon, much to his annoyance. Yoshino warns that she will monitor them unless Masaru joins DATS. The next day, Masaru discovers Kunemon attacking animals at Chika’s school by feeding on classmate Takashi’s negative emotions. Agumon serves as bait while Yoshino’s Lalamon digivolves to Sunflowmon to fight. Kunemon evolves into Flymon, paralyzing Sunflowmon and Yoshino with poison powder. Unable to digivolve Agumon, Masaru accesses his DNA by punching Flymon, enabling GeoGreymon to defeat the enemy. A mysterious old man explains the Digital World to Masaru, who is then welcomed into DATS by Commander Satsuma.
