Risu recalls his past conflict with Aikawa over the Cross-Eyes gang, driven by his inability to produce magic smoke and hope for Berith research. In the present, he seeks his killer in Berith while Caiman endures a brutal beating from Nikaido, who confirms her sorcerer status. After Caiman collapses, Nikaido is stabbed by an unknown assailant. Asu retrieves En’s contract from Nikaido’s wound, explaining that proximity to En causes regrowth, with death or the next Blue Night as solutions. Caiman, suffering amnesia, recalls a hospital dream where Nikaido suggested his name. In the present, Caiman swallows Nikaido, learning Risu is in Berith. Asu opens a portal, transforming Chota into Nikaido’s doppelgänger to buy time. They hide in a ruined subway, where Nikaido reveals her time magic killed a friend, leading her to protect humans in Hole. They agree to remain friends.
