Gen recalls being revived by Tsukasa before being ambushed by Magma, who mistakes him for Senku. Gen survives using fake blood bags. Kohaku explains that Magma attacked him to win the Grand Bout, a tournament Kohaku previously defeated Magma in to prevent him from marrying Ruri and becoming village elder. Kohaku, Kinro, and Ginro begin training for the upcoming Grand Bout. Meanwhile, Gen provides a false report to Tsukasa after Senku promises to create a bottle of cola for him. The narrative focuses on the immediate aftermath of the attack, the motivations behind Magma's actions, and the preparations for the tournament while Gen negotiates with Senku.
