Gohan and Amin prevent Goku from turning off the furnace, arguing that spirits need access to the afterlife. Amin attacks Goku instead of assisting him. After observing Goku possess the Bansho fan, Amin devises a plan requiring Chi Chi, who holds the necessary items. With the fan and Amin lifting the pot, Goku enters the furnace and seals the hole, escaping barely alive. The castle flames subside, and the Ox King survives with the wedding dress intact. Goku and Chi Chi then proceed with their marriage ceremony, officially becoming husband and wife.
