Vegeta is defeated by Frieza while Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin watch helplessly. Goku arrives and blocks Frieza's Death Beams, unsettling the tyrant with his familiar appearance. When Vegeta mocks Frieza by calling Goku the true Super Saiyan, Frieza kills him with a Death Beam. Dying, Vegeta reveals Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race, shedding tears as he begs Goku to avenge them. Goku buries Vegeta and vows to defeat the merciless tyrant.
