Ep. 90: Goku surrenders and names Gohan as the final fighter against Cell despite protests.

Goku’s ki blasts fail to defeat Cell, who activates an energy barrier at the last moment. The Z Fighters realize Goku has exhausted his energy. In a surprising move, the battle-worn Super Saiyan surrenders and announces that Gohan will be the next and last contestant to fight Cell. Piccolo and Krillin protest this decision, but Gohan agrees and steps forward. Gohan impresses everyone with his power, which proves to be on par with Goku’s. However, he finds himself on the losing side of the fight against Cell. The battle continues with Gohan facing the android despite his impressive display of strength.
