Ep. 188: Goku sacrifices himself to defeat Cell, but the villain returns to kill Trunks

After shedding his perfect form, Cell proves no match for Gohan, who arrogantly toys with him instead of ending the fight. Goku urges Gohan to finish the battle, but Cell resorts to self-destructing with the planet. Goku transports Cell to King Kai’s planet, sacrificing his life to save Earth. While the Z Fighters mourn, Gohan regrets his arrogance. Cell unexpectedly reappears and instantly kills Trunks with a single blast, shocking the survivors.
