Hakuoh discovers a sketch of Maruo Kadoko and is tasked with teaching Rekuta to duel. After Rekuta loses seven consecutive matches by using only cards he likes, Hakuoh designs a new deck for him. The next day, Rekuta alters the deck but loses his eighth duel, stating he does not care about winning. He runs into Cora Yoga, who critiques the deck. Hakuoh overhears this and learns Rekuta’s favorite card is Terradragon Gamiratar. They rebuild the deck around this choice. In a local tournament, Rekuta defeats Danny Green for his first win. However, he subsequently loses to Cora Yoga. Despite the loss, Hakuoh has taught him enough for him to regain his finals pass.
