Senshi survives a dungeon griffin attack by eating meat Gillin claimed was the beast, though Laios identifies it as hippogriff. Using changeling mushrooms to restore the meat's true nature, Senshi overcomes his guilt and resumes the journey. The mushrooms inadvertently swap the party's species, prompting a search for more to reverse the effect. Instead, they discover a door leading deeper into the dungeon. Kensuke emerges from his sword to unlock it, waking nearby gargoyles. Unable to fight, the group flees through the door into an ancient dwarven stronghold from the elf/dwarf war era. With no other options, they set up camp and prepare dumplings using the hippogriff meat.
