Ep. 1: Flashback reveals Yu, Yuko, and Shuichi's past while Mizuki meets Shuichi at Renji's house

A flashback depicts Yu Himura, Yuko Amamiya, and Shuichi Kuze as high school students, noting that Yu and Yuko have not seen each other for ten years. In the present, Mizuki Hayama stays at Renji Aso's house until she enters high school, while Renji studies for exams. Sumire Aso introduces Shuichi to Mizuki, who realizes some of Renji's warnings about him may be accurate. Kuze and Mizuki spend the remainder of the day together, growing more familiar with one another.
