Ep. 3: Mizuki learns of Kuze's impending death and stops his attempt to burn his violin at the beach.

The narrative recalls Yuko’s past bullying, which Yu found concerning enough to ask Kuze to monitor her in class. In the present, Mizuki visits Kuze’s home but finds no answer, leading her to believe he is avoiding her. She proceeds to an old train station where she meets Chihiro Shindo, who reveals that Kuze is suffering from a rare neurosis that will cause his death soon. Later that night, Chihiro informs Mizuki that Kuze is at the beach playing the violin. Mizuki rushes to the shore to find him. She discovers Kuze attempting to set his violin and its case on fire. Mizuki intervenes and extinguishes the flames in time, although the incident results in her burning her right palm.
