Kurama recounts his history as a colleague of Professor Kazukawa, joining him and his father on the diclonius project after university. During research, he contracts the virus through vectors, resulting in the birth of his daughter Mariko as a diclonius. Although he initially intends to kill her, his wife’s death and final plea lead him to spare Mariko. Kazukawa mandates that bombs be implanted in her to neutralize her if she becomes aggressive. Concurrently, with Lucy and Nana residing in Kohta’s home, the facility dispatches their most powerful asset, designated as No. 35. This episode details the tragic origins of Mariko and the escalating threat posed by the newly released diclonius.
