Lucy's history with Kohta is explored, revealing that after her dog died, she developed contempt for humans until Kohta briefly befriended her. He plays the opening theme "Lilium" on a music box purchased in Kamakura. They visit the zoo and play in the water, where Lucy expresses that she has never had more fun. Her hope for reconnecting with humanity is briefly restored. However, upon discovering that Kohta's cousin Yuka, whom he claimed was a boy, is actually a girl, Lucy loses hope and embarks on a future path of murder.
