Drossel von Flügel meets Gedächtnis in the Flügel Manor main hall, where she refers to him as Sancho Panza. She recalls the previous human army attack, noting that both she and Gedächtnis feared death during the event. Surprisingly, Drossel decides to make peace with mankind. Gedächtnis explains that her father spent 20,000 years hoping the war would end. He advises her to study human language using a text left by her father. However, the results of her study do not end well, complicating her new diplomatic approach.
