Drossel von Flügel visits Gedächtnis in the main hall of the Flügel Manor, addressing him as Samarkand. She expresses a desire to acquire a pet filet sandwich, but he informs her that the manor prohibits animals. Undeterred by her specific choice, Gedächtnis reveals a collection of light blue butterflies contained within his mind. Drossel mistakes these creatures for birds and ponders their nature, comparing them to dolphins, humans, or machines. As the butterflies gather around her, they suddenly vanish, leaving Drossel in the hall.
