Ep. 8: Zenko leaves Yahiko at the temple while Ashiya encounters the bird yokai Jomatsu.

Zenko arranges for Yahiko to assist around the temple while she remains with him. Ashiya feels relieved by this arrangement but soon encounters another yokai. The bird yokai Jomatsu expresses concern for his heartbroken mistress, Princess Anmo, who has withdrawn into an egg shell she constructed and has not emerged for a long time. Jomatsu has been searching for a Mononokean so that he can return to the Underworld with Princess Anmo still inside her egg.
