Jean, Nadia, and King are rescued from the sea by the American battleship Abraham. Captain Melville and First Mate Holland hunt a sea monster blamed for sinking ships in the Pacific. Jean finds the voyage interesting, but Nadia remains suspicious. They meet Ayerton Grenavan, a flamboyant scientist funding the mission. That night, the ship is attacked by a dangerous presence. A torpedo strikes the Abraham, throwing Jean, Nadia, King, and their aircraft back into the ocean.
