Jean investigates the island and finds a power plant in a central crater, witnessing a villager killed by soldiers. Meanwhile, Marie and King wander outside their cave to gather flowers while Jean and Nadia debate whether to rescue the islanders. The children are captured by soldiers, prompting Jean and Nadia to follow them to a factory complex where villagers are enslaved. They identify a submarine called the Garfish, commanded by the ruthless Gargoyle. When Nadia’s Blue Water artifact activates near Gargoyle’s secret weapon, the group attempts to escape. To save Jean from execution, Nadia surrenders herself, and Jean vows to rescue her.
