Soldiers known as Neo Atlanteans capture Nadia and bring her before Gargoyle, who claims to have known her since infancy. He demands the location of the Blue Water, threatening to kill Marie and King when she refuses. Nadia reveals Jean possesses it, prompting soldiers to search the complex. Meanwhile, the Grandis gang attempts to escape, leading both groups to cross paths on a freight train heading to Gargoyle's castle. Gargoyle gives Nadia a tour of the facility, highlighting the central spiral tower called Babel, capable of destroying everything in its path. That evening, he forces her to watch the tower demolish a distant island. At sea, Captain Nemo witnesses the explosion and identifies the event as the release of a great abomination.
