Five years after the deaths of Fernand Mondego and Edmond Dantès, a peace treaty with the Eastern Empire is signed. Morrel returns to Valentine in Marseilles to rebuild his business, while Eugénie returns to Paris as a famous pianist. Haydée prepares for her coronation on Janina with former servants Bertuccio, Baptistin, and Ali. Benedetto and Caderousse remain at large, and Peppo is a top fashion model. Widowed Mercédès visits the graves of Fernand and Edmond. Albert, now Albert Herrera, returns to Paris and finds a letter from Edmond to Mercédès, realizing the Count was his biological father. After reflecting at Franz's grave, Albert rushes to a church to hear Eugénie play a song she wrote for him.
