Ep. 1: Reiko Mikami tackles a mountain hotel ghost while Yokoshima meets a 300-year-old spirit

Reiko Mikami is hired to exorcise a mountain hotel haunted by a jibakurei whose body is lost in the mountains. She brings Tadao Yokoshima to carry her luggage. Yokoshima encounters the ghost of Kinu Himuro, who was sacrificed 300 years ago to appease the volcanic mountain. Kinu has also become a jibakurei and seeks a replacement to kill. Mikami, aided by Yokoshima and Kinu, uses a talisman to absorb the evil mountain spirit, granting it peace. She then installs the hotel's ghost to guard the mountain in the spirit's place.
