Ep. 16: Yang secures retreat while imperial succession crisis unfolds in the Free Planets Alliance
Aired on April 11, 1989

Yang’s 13th Fleet holds off the Imperial Fleet, enabling Admiral Bucock to withdraw remaining forces and allowing Yang to escape destruction. The Emperor dies without naming an heir, prompting Reinhard and Premier Lichtenlade to crown Erwin Josef II. Princes Braunschweig and Littenheim, fathers of the other grandchildren, prepare for revenge. In the Free Planets Alliance, Trüniht becomes temporary High Council chairman, Bucock serves as Fleet commander-in-chief, and Yang assumes command of Iserlohn. Yang brings his staff, Attenborough, and new officer Julian Minci, hoping to appoint Alex Cazellnu as fortress commissioner. Meanwhile, in Phezzan, Rubinsky follows orders from the Grand Bishop of the Earth Cult.
