In December 794 UC, the Galactic Empire launches a massive campaign of 35,400 ships against the Free Planets Alliance to honor Kaiser Friedrich IV's thirtieth reign year. The Alliance learns of the invasion through Fezzan, but faces internal scandal as escort warships abandon a merchant convoy under Imperial attack. By February 795 UC, the Alliance deploys the 5th, 10th, and 11th Fleets to intercept the enemy in the Tiamat Starzone, with the 4th and 6th Fleets potentially joining as reserves. During the ensuing clash, Willem Holland commands the 11th Fleet to break standard tactics, charging haphazardly into Imperial lines to create confusion among the opposing forces.
