The Odd Jobs trio covers for Hasegawa at Oedo Mart, but Gintoki and Kagura’s poor work ethic creates chaos for shoppers. While Shinpachi works diligently, he spots a shoplifter and intervenes, only to discover the culprit is Takachin, his childhood friend from temple school. Takachin explains that after Shinpachi betrayed his trust, he became a bullying target, but he now claims to be respected as a member of the “Bulldogs” gang. Determined to rescue his friend from a destructive lifestyle, Shinpachi infiltrates a meeting of the rival group, the “Maltese,” to confront the situation directly.
