Isaac, who follows Beruze, witnesses him shoot Orphe and intervenes to save him. He treats Orphe's wound and, at Orphe's insistence, discloses information regarding the plan to assassinate the king. Simultaneously, Lui positions other Strahl candidates at strategic points to protect the king from the assassination attempt. Beruze subsequently uncovers his true form. Isaac assists Orphe in reaching the academy in time to confront Beruze. The events focus on the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the revelation of the conspiracy, and the strategic preparations made by Lui to ensure the king's safety during the confrontation.
