A Rosenstolz Academy graduate disrupts student life by offering unimaginable pleasures. Five Strahl candidates attempt to meet Josef Torger, leading Orphe to a shocking discovery. Torger reveals his wealth stems from blackmailing Kuchen noblemen and politicians, providing Orphe with a notebook documenting these illegal activities. Headmaster Bartholomew visits Torger personally to offer him a teaching position at Rosenstolz. Torger declines the offer, leaves the incriminating notebook with Orphe, and subsequently sets himself and his house on fire.
